The Jane Gifford: Sponsors / Contributors

The Jane Gifford was relaunched in May 2009 at a cost of about $750,000.00.  The restoration work was carried out by paid boatbuilders supervised by trustee Peter Thompson, with enormous help from dedicated volunteers.

The Trust has received substantial grants from Pub Charity, SkyCity Community Trust, Rotary, ASB Trust, Lion Foundation, Perry Foundation, NZ Community Trust, New Zealand Lottery Grants Board and numerous local companies and residents.  Families of those associated with the boat in past years have helped considerably.  The Jane Gifford has now carried some 10,000 people since her launching on short and longer trips and she is actively used by community groups, school groups, and businesses.

The trustees are extremely grateful to all of the contributors and supporters of the project who are to numerous to mention.  The boat is now fully operational but contributions for future expenses, such as replacement of sails, would be gratefully received and all contributions are applied fully to the maintenance and improvement of the vessel.
